They thought they had me... Lol Send Cancellation certified that way you know they get it!

A pregnant lady came to my door (I live in a subsidized townhouse co-op.) and said that there were some college students competing for a scholarship and the needed to clean a certain amount of houses. She said they would clean hard wood my mattresses and my carpeted stairs. Well then the Kirby scam man shows up. He barely did any cleaning. He only did part of my child's mattress and only a small part on mine. He only cleaned about a 4 ft. Section of my hardwood. And only one stair.
The guy has this sales ploy that he uses. And later when I was just letting him talk, not that I had a choice (and most people say I talk too much.) He was saying stuff in his real life that just didn't jive with what he was saying in his sales pitch. Well anyways we did purchase the vacuum at what seemed to be a great deal. Come to find out they are cheaper on Ebay... So of course we returned it. We sent out the notice the next day and called them to let them know that we were returning it. So anyways they said they wouldn't process our card but guess what they did. It has only been a few days so I will let you know how long it takes them to get us back our money. I have read other complaints about them not taking the product back. I made sure I sent my cancellation notice certified. It cost about $5 but well worth if you don't want to get stuck with the vacuum. And once they get the letter call up there and ask if you can bring the vacuum in. That way you don't have to deal with that guy again. Also when you return the products make sure you get a written statement from them saying you returned it.

Also this is something I just cant figure out. My son has some sensory issues and got into the guys stuff. He brought me a water bottle filled with a white powder. I think it was baking soda. (Or something that was making that guy talk so much I couldn't think... Lol) Anyways, what was he doing with that? I think there is something tricky going on here. Is there a spot to put that in, in their little demo attachment??? Probably so. But for what? Everyone knows that Kirby's are great vacuums. And I do plan on purchasing one once we get our money back. But I am doing it the affordable way with no hassling.
O and one last thing. They tell you that you won't get another demo for 10 years or something, but you can go to Kirby.com and register for a demo.

I have a new rule of thumb now, because I am young and this is the first time this has happened to me and hopefully the last. Never buy anything from a salesman without first checking it out on Ebay. Second, don't let them talk you into something that you cant afford at the time, even if it is a good product. What good is an expensive vacuum if you end up loosing your house because of the bills. I don't think you need a vacuum when your homeless. Third thing, which next time I will do, Get away from the sales guy for a moment so you can think about it without him cramming "info" down your throat. Go to the bathroom. Call yourself... Lol Anything. Because if my boyfriend and I would of had a chance to do the math and talk about it we would of never went for it in the first place.
