Sears Mastercard apparently has gotten quite arrogant with thier best customers after merging with Kmart. I regularly pay all my charge bills on line (in full every month). My last Sears payment in full was paid via their online payment service on the due date 5/20. They charged a late fee because it takes "./.. 2-5 days to post online payment..." The post office is faster than their online payments. Subsequently they charged me a late fee of 39$ and refused to remove it. Their policies are designed to charge opportunistic late fees, unlike many other charge companies.
Guess what, I will pay the balance I owe in full, minus the late fee, and will shred the card... Never to do business with Sears again... Which by the way amounts to about 2000$ a year in merchandise on average.
