Complaint / Review
Federal EEOC, And NYC Children's Services Agency
Civil Rights Violators City

I have worked for the same NYC Child Welfare Employer for over 20 years. I have stellar performance reviews on file and excellent track record. After my promotion, I had an accident on the job and reported it to Worker's Compensation. Despite my ongoig medical treantment for these injuries, I continued working.

My Employer who had already been harrasing me, increased the harrassment after my job accident. Needless to say, I could have died from these injuries. A younger co-worker continiously referenced to be the "new blood" in the agency. He repeatedly made these remarks at my presence. Another co-worker questioned the legitimacy of my reported accident and remarked "they are all the same", a clear reference to my ethnicity. The supervisor aided in the harrassment and she herself made ethnic animus statements several times. The supervisor encouraged others under her domain to harrass me. I was then punitively transferred into another unit within the program in efforts to cover up their tracks. Needless to say, the new supervisor harrassed me as well and ultimately, the Employer demoted me. But the harrassment never ceased.

I wrote to the Equal Employment Opporunity Commission. This was the second time seeking help from the EEOC because of the history of harrassment and discrimination I have endured from this employer. The first time, 1992, EEOC admitted being overburdened with caseload and made a sloppy work on my case only to dismiss it on all questionable reasoning. This time, again EEOC reports at my persistence for justice that it was overwhelmed with caseload. Again dismisses my claim on unsubstantiated grounds. EEOC is not doing its job. I do not think it has ever done its job for the people suffering discrimination at the hands of unscupulous employers who know that EEOC is not for the aggrieved but for other interests including the Employer's interests.

EEOC has thrown me into a complete chaos and they know it. They know that 90 days to file a federal court suit is not sufficient time. EEOC knows that a prospective lawyer will charge a grieving party thousands of dollars upfront. Otherwise, there will be no legal representation. EEOC knows that the employer will highten the harrassment to the point of insanity and persist to retaliate and terminate the aggrieved person. EEOC must be revamped. Its Director has been there for too long and I know of EEOC employees and investigators claims that there is a gross injustice and incompetence within this Federal agency. I myself have reached out to the US Congress for assistance, but I see no changes have ever occured. Please help.
