Patrick & His Son, Josh Hard Sell Telemarketing - Omnipresent Rips Off Customers & Employees!

I apologize to all the people I had to call while I was employed at Omnipresent. This is the sleaziest company that I ever worked for. The manager, Patrick, would hire about 25 people every month, and dismiss that many each month. Most workers would be employed for 3 - 4 weeks before being fired.

I found out that Omnipresent also collects information on its employees to sell to bill collection agencies, and that Omnipresent really makes more money by selling information about customers and employees than money selling magazines. They collect information about names, bank accounts, addresses, etc, and sell that to third party bill collectors and credit card companies.

The workers were constantly being screamed at to "keep smiling and dialing, " and if sales were not being made, the workers were told, "You are not trying hard enough, you need to make the customer purchase" and other baloney. The "scrip" that was followed was "$3.74" per week, and if the customer on the phone said, "How much, $3.74 per month?" we were told to just say, "yes, " even though $3.74 per week and $3.74 per month is a huge difference.

This type of dishonest and misleading behavior was what the workers were told to do again and again. Workers were instructed to keep the elderly on the phone, and especially older women, who may be widows and lonely and needed someone to talk to. It was really deplorable what workers were told to do just to make a sale. The customer would end up paying about $700 - $800 for magazines that would cost only $1.00 at the store.in other words, the customer would pay about $17.00 per month for $5.00 worth of magazines.

Remeber when I mentioned that about 25 people were let go each month? Well, the sales that were in the "pipeline" as Patrick & Josh called it, some of those sales would eventually get approval, and some "lucky" new person would get the sale, the bell would ring, and Karen, Josh, Dominique & Jennifer would clap and say, "Good work, so so!" And the sale was really made by someone who was already let go.

Many customers would call to say they were not receiving the magazines that they had purchased. They were either stonewalled or told that "the processing center had a fire/hurricane/flood and will be back on schedule shortly."

Omnipresent was the most opportunistic, greedy and slimy company that I had ever worked for. The people who worked there and were fired for "not selling" were the luckiest people, even if it meant being unemployed.
