While my checking account was prepared for web pay services for my monthly bills and dated to be paid on my December 31st direct deposit pay day, Golden One' failed to pay my web pay bills timely and I was charged over $350 in non-sufficient funds fees and hit again by their web pay service for over $300 in fees.
Keep in mind that as a state worker, we are paid the last day of each month and my pay check was direclty deposited on 12/31/08 around 4:00 A.M. They argue that because their web pay service took the funds out of my account around 1:00 A.M. On 12/31/08 (earlier than my direct deposti) I am held responsible for the glitch in their computer systems as far as simultaneous timing is concerned.
A customer should not be held liable because their systems for each service (Web Pay and Direct Deposit) are not set up for coincidal withdrawal on the same day. I recently received several emails from their customer support stating that they are going to charge me additional fees because after paying all of my bills, I did not have funds in my account to cover some of the non-sufficient charges debited my account. That's another $300 or more. What a rip off. I will not use their web pay service ever again.
