Mission Fish aka Point of Light aka Ebay Giving Works RIP OFF

Mission Fish is associated with Ebay. Sellers are allowed to choose to donate from 10% to 100% of their auction earnings to a charity of their choice, via Mission Fish, aka Point of Light Institute. This is deceiving.in reality, you are then obligated to donate $5.00 per item that sells, not 10% of the final sales price, no matter WHAT your item sells for. This is not clearly stated in the agreements. The agreements are very misleading, not clear. Once your listing is up - you can NOT edit out the option to donate to them either - you have to END the listing to get rid of your option to donate by completely redoing your listing. Ebay will not refund your listing fees either when you have to end them to get rid of this nightmarish donation option. So in order to get your item back up for sale without an option to donate check marked, you will be charged double by Ebay for the same listing. Ebay has not responded yet to my concerns over my account being basically double charged at this point (three weeks into this nightmare). Mission Fish also charged my account two more times long after all my listings had ended that had donations earmarked on them - even after repeated emails clearly stating my position, and the reasons I was no longer participating in their 'program'. Reaching these people is next to impossible. Disputes filed on the money they withdraw from your paypal account go unanswered, as well as emails. If you escalate the dispute to a claim, paypal automatically closes it and it does not end in your favor. This company is also not a non-profit, as they make it appear that they are. This is why they operate as Point of Light Institute. Everything associated with Mission Fish appears to be a lie - and they are robbing people left and right. Sellers on Ebay should beware of this company, and avoid agreeing to donate anything through them. There is no telling whether the funds are ever actually reaching your selected charity or not - given how they seem to operate, actions do speak louder than words. Avoid them like the plague.
