Marketing Fx / Cydcor Pretty much the whole lowdown on Marketing Fx by a ex employee

Theres other postings regarding this company. Most of them seem to have researched it. I've had first hand experience. I still think about my experience there and I always thought it was because Greg sucked at teaching us. Now reading these reports, I'm not so sure, but make your own opinions based off my opinion and what happened to me.

It's a scam and it isn't. It is a pyramid scheme. It wouldn't be much different from what you would run into with Quixtar. I'm sure for the lucky few. 04%, theres a chance you MIGHT make some money somewhere. So if you wanna work there anyway, heres the full scoop.

I, at one point around 2007 had interviews with Boomerang and marketing Fx some other company. I chose Marketing Fx since I always wanted to work downtown. Plus even without coming to this site, i was seeing usacomplaints. Coms just googling the other names.

MarketingFx's website is www.marketingfx.org, looks like they moved.

Here's the keypoints on what you'll learn while you're working there and at the interview.

Everyone working there is brainwashed, remember that. Because we all have that wish no matter what, that we'll become our own boss and become millionaires.

You know where they tell you that you'll learn marketing and blah blah leadership/trainer skills? Thats supposed to be your first 2-4 weeks. Thats where you walk door to door in your territories, territories by the way which have been hit up already at one point or another, and con people into At&t. They get the exact same deals or better if they call it in themselves or do it online. However, we have to make it seem like they can only get the deal from us.

You're supposed to rack in 600 a week. Because it's 100% commission, it doesn't matter how long it takes, a day or a year. When you do make that 600 for the week, you become a "leader".

Congrats for making 600 bucks within a week, you've become a leader! Thats where if you read some of the websites for related type companies, you learn "Human Resource" skills. This they say take longer. Once you're a leader you stay a leader. If you actually get to the 2nd interview stage where a "account exec" interviews you... Well, you are the "account executive." Now you're trying to hire people like you. You want between 5-15 people to get to a leadership position without quitting yet... Woo boy, good luck. This is supposed to take 2-4 months...

You actually did it! The next position is Assistant Manager! I during my time there, and other people during their time there have never seen an ass. Man there. Some have been there 6 months to a year. Supposedly during this time you can, go into the field if you want, but this is where you learn your micromanaging skills, reports, meeting your clients and what not. At&t, besides paying for your commission, also pays the owner of THAT specific firm you're in, 68% of total commissions. So you can see where getting alot of people are useful. As an assistant manager you're entitled to 10% of the 68%. Once you're done learning all this, and you saved your money, you're to go out and start your own Marketing FX (or whatever you want to call it) This is supposed to be a 6-8 month process... Hasn't happened yet.

Now have you added it all up yet? They hire as many people as possible, who are actually willing to do it after the 2nd interview. No one who actually says yes gets refused. Most of the ages of these people will be between 18-26. Young and idealistic college grads or non college grads. If 40 people can just average 200 bucks a week for you, thats 8000 bucks. 68% of that is $5440.00.in a year that totals out to $282,880. Sure theres overhead, but sharing a pretty small office with someone and having 3 roommates in a small apt., doesn't turn out to be much.

Most of those people are barely scraping by or living with parents/roommates. Or racking up mad debt. I racked the hell out of my credit cards. The ones that are consistently making money there are still only making about 600 bucks/the average / a week. You don't have to believe me. Experience it yourself. Oh yeah, I forgot they'll say that they have no layoffs. It's completely true. They don't, but they don't tell you how bad their turnover ratio is. After 2 months, out of the 40 that I first saw, there were only 7 from the original 40 that I saw. The system Does not WORK. They try to force the system into you. It does not work. It's their whole tactic. They'll tell you it works. It doesn't. The few people who made it, lucked OUT. Then they just tell you that the people who couldn't cut it, couldn't do it. Wasn't cut out for it. Thats only about 99% of those that try. And I'm not even sure about the 1% to be honest with you. It's still that inner hope that the whole thing isn't a scam. For all I know, it could be a collaboration of 30 people who made up this idea and the'yre completely banking off us.

They'll also say this is from someone who couldn't cut it. I admit it, I couldn't cut it. I was given used up territories. Not given correct information on the stuff I was "selling" and I was going dead broke. They force you to go on business trips. Perhaps to OH, perhaps to Atlanta. You will go by car, with someone who has a car. YOU will pay for gas, along with the person driving. YOU will share a cramped motel room with 5 other people. Oh yeah, team leader days. You're completely encouraged to go on thursday's to drink with the other people. Use your own money. The smart people stop going, it's another drain on your resources. Well sorry, actually the smart people quit.

You dont have to believe me though. Try it out yourself. Maybe you'll get lucky. This company is based off idealism. It's not realistic. If you succeed let me know.
