On june 12, i was invited to come see a taping of kenny chesney for a forth of july maceys taping on the brooklyn bridge, from kennys fanclub. After paying for a babysitter, getting gas and food money and talking 2 of my friends into driving from ri to ny, i was on my way and so excited, i did 'nt care what it costs, i just wanted to see brooklyn and ny, and get away from my everyday life and maybe drive around and see some of new york.
Once we got there i happened to meet a guy names ron knight from nbc, we began talking and i had mentioned that i wanted to go and see kenny at the today show as well, he said that i should get there by 4:00 am, i said really that early... He said yes, but dont worry i have a friend named ed may hes head of security just mention my name and hell take care of you, by the time the concert was over and we went and got a 500.00 a night hotel and went to bed it was time to get up and go to the show, once we got there my friends decided to stay away and just listen to the music, but for me being good friends with george strait, i wanted to be right up front. So i walked up to the security people and asked if ed may was there, they said no he had the day off, so i said i knew him threw ron knight and they let me in, while on my way in, i happened to have a corona autographed kenny chesney shirt on so another security guard pulled me into the building and very rudly asked me if i work for corona? I said no, i just happened to have it from a kc concert in ct. He said oh ok good because we just threw them out and i was gonna throw you out too, wow what a way to treat people!
So then he put me right up in the front in the vip section and i was just minding my own business when a large man came up to me and in front of everyone, he asked me how i knew ed may, i said threw ron knight, he said bull shit you dont know me, now get the hell out, i started crying i couldn't believe i was being treated this way, how rude and nasty! So i told him what was i suppost to say they told me he wasnt in that day... Then he kicks me out in front of everyone, then i cryed and cryed and found a badge on the ground so i went back inside to explain to ed may that i had ron knights card and if he could call him, hes the one that told me to come but the other security guard saw me and wouldn't let me talk to ed and kicked me out again, how embarrissing, so i cryed the whole way home and still 4 mouths later im crying wrighting this letter.
I have always loved the today show and kenny chesney and i cant believe this is the way they treat people instead of giving someone the benefit of the dought. I spent alot of money to see the show and i saw nothing but tears, im still so upset and everytime i watch the today show now i have nothing but bad memories, i just thought you'd like to know how your security treat life long fans! Maybe if i was famous or something youd get treated better there!
