Willowbrook Mall is a mall, well known for disturbing incidents, such as shooting, stabbings and drugs. This latest situation that I have eyewitnessed was indeed unjust.
I was at the mall on Friday night, July 9th at 10:00 pm, picking up my son from the Mall arcade. As I stood outside the arcade waiting for him and his friends, who are both 14. I happened to notice a young man about 20 arguing with a young black girl about the same age. They apparently did NOT know each other and he was screaming horrible racist and degrading words while she was passing him to leave the mall. He kept following her, shouting these negative remarks and getting in front of her face, threatening to beat her and kill her. He was screaming he was a tough drug dealer from the bronx and not to mess with him.
Now he was screaming this all VERY loudly. There were two security guards and one cop all standing there, watching this. The first security guard told him to leave her alone and than told the other security guard to kick him out. Than he left. The security guard that was supposed to kick him out, just shrugged and laughed. Meanwhile the young man continued to threaten this poor girl and get away with it.
I approached the security guard and the police officer, who both said they could care less about what's going on. They than told me that they were friends with the young man and would NOT throw him off the premises.
I was outraged that noone would help her, and that she had to keep taking this harrassment. I approached her and asked her if she was ok. She told me that she was an employee of the mall, and did not understand why this boy was threatening her. Her friends had come over to see if she was ok and to walk her back to her car. They told me the main reason why noone would throw him off the premises is because, he deals Marijuana to children and uses it as his main spot and help keeps the arcade in business.
That same security and cop than they told me wanted to throw her off the mall premises because they had said that black people are always the cause of problems at the mall.
I wish that I could press charges but I do not know how to go about doing this. I have tried to contact the Mall management, the arcade management (which is on mall premises), and the Wayne police. They have not replied.
