Illegal debit to bank

I had recently cancelled my service from direct tv and went to another carrier. I thought everything was fine until I noticed an illegal debit from my bank account. I called directv and was told that I owed two months service and a charge for the equipment that had yet to be returned. I explained that I had cancelled my service and was told that direct would send packaging for the return of equipment. The customer service agent explained that they had the right to debit my card even though I was unaware of owing anything! I was being charge for service and I was with another carrier and I thought everything was taken care of with direct. I disputed the charges and it was returned to my account.

In the meanwhile I received the packaging from directv and also a check for the equipment. When direct saw that the payment had been reversed, they recharged me for the equipment and two months payment. They have a collection agency call my house every hour. When I answer there is no answer. Once I answered and they were very irate. I cant get anyone at direct to resolve this problem... They dont listen to you... They all are programmed with the same answer. I couldn't believe such crooks are allowed to operate.

Had I known they were so unscrupulous I would have never done business with this company. I checked my credit report and I see that they have made inquiries on my credit file. These people are treacherous!!!
