All I wanted was just the CD for $2.29. After I ordered it I could also download the software, which I did.
If there is anything on their site that says you are also signing up for a 39.95 monthly membership they hid it well because I never saw anything like that.
I still have not recieved anything in the mail yet and this morning someone from the company called me to ask how I liked the software and try to explain to me all of the free offers that were included in my membership. At first I didn't even know who it was or why they were calling, I had just woke up and explained I did not want any membership. She ignored me and kept right on talking. Then she mentioned that it was only 39.95 a month and at that point I told her I was not interested and to cancel my membership that I didn't even know I had. I just wanted the CD.
She then tried to explain that I have 30 days free to try all of the things that were included in the membership. I repeated that I did not want a membership. She again ignored me.By now I am very upset and just told her to cancel whatever membership they think I have and I hung up.
Later in the day I decide to look at my bank account online and sure enough I can see a pending transaction for $39.95. I was furious. So I call them and of course they now tell me that I wanted the membership since I checked the box etc. On their web site. The woman eventually hung up on me because I could not control my temper.
People like these belong behind bars!!! That be our tax money well spent for a change. To me they are no better than terrorists.
I called back a few minutes later and spoke with a different person that actually seemed willing to help and did say she would refund my money and even gave me some comfirmation numbers.
Since I am barely surviving if the transaction does go through I may be hit with a NSF fee since I was not expecting that charge and didn't have the full 39.95 to cover it.
I have already explained all of this to my bank and they seem willing to work with me and I may be able to avoid the NSF charge.
The sad part is, the people who work for this company probably consider themselves patriotic Americians even while they are screwing their fellow citizens.
I hope they all get what they deserve.
