I purchased a everstart battery from walmart in 11/06 with a 2 year free replacement for $49.95. I put my reciept in the plastic bag on the side of the battery (where it belong). That was a bad ideal b/c the reciept got burned some how, but i had the stamped date on the battery. My battery died so i went to get my free replacement. Well when i got my battery i proceed to the customer service desk. The manager scanned my new battery its price was $62.94. So she tells me that i have to pay the diffference. So i asked her why should i pay the difference if i get a FREE REPLACEMENT. She tells me that walmart cant control the price increase of the battery. I told i understand that that is why i purchased a battery with a 2 YEAR FREE REPLACEMENT, so i would not have to worry about anything. She told me that i would have to get a $49.95 battery if i didnt want to pay a difference. So that meant i would have to get a smaller battery with a 1 year FREE RREPLACEMENT. So i guess your free replacement is only free if walmart doesnt raise the price by time you need to replace your battery
