I also went before Judge McManimon pro se (without an attorney). I definitely felt that the case was decided before I even walked in. He was familiar with the defense attorney and his claims and even called him by his first name, but I don't think he even read my brief. The judge was so determined to find a house purchase was only "buyer beware" that he wouldn't even consider if fraud occurred. And the defendant had made an admission against interest in acknowledging that she knew water entered the basement. He either is an "old boy" judge or has a bias against fraud claims or against pro se plaintiffs because I never even had a chance. And attorneys I showed my case to felt I had a pretty good case. With this judge it was over before it began. He blew me off. I would be very surprised if he read my brief, because if he had I think we would have gone to trial. I would like to see other accounts of how he handles fraud cases, because I don't think he likes to hear them.
