5 Minutes To Live (5MTL.com) - Sam McAbee This guy is a joke, order not fulfilled after 5 weeks, willfully deceptive

I ordered 2 videos from 5MTL back on July 28. To date, I have still not received anything in the mail, and though he finally sent me a tracking number 8 days ago, the USPS website has yet to show that they have received the package for shipment.

To get a true feel for what I've gone through, I have attached all e-mail correspondence pertaining to the order. I think this is the best way to allow Sam McAbee's willful negligence shine through.

Order placed July 28.

We'll try this again. Please respond. Have not received videos yet, which has me a little concerned, seeing as your site says 2-3 business days for delivery. Thanks.

8/14 from 5MTL to me

Hello,

Order was shipped and should have arrived. I will reship tonight and
email you a tracking number for this. Sorry about the delayed response.

Please let me know when the order arrives. If you end up with two
packages, there is no need to send anything back.

Thanks,
Sam

OK thanks, Sam. Just wanted to make sure there was someone on the other end. I know how these things go — run it out of the house, go on vacation, etc.

Yeah, never made it here. What was the tracking number of the original shipment? I can check on my end to see if it "ended up" with a neighbor.

In any case, yeah, send me the tracking number for the new shipment and I'll stay on top of that one to make sure it gets to me. Thanks again.

Tracking number?

Sam,

Have not heard from you since Thursday. Still have not gotten tracking number from you, for either the first package or the second one. Please respond with tracking number (s). Thanks.

8/20 from me to 5MTL

Sam,

You said last Thursday that my order would be in the mail and a tracking number e-mailed to me in short order. I have not heard from you since then despite repeated inquiries.

You need to e-mail me in the next 24 hours with an update on my order and a tracking number, or I'm afraid this might get unpleasant. I don't think I am asking too much here. Thank you.

8/21 from me to 5MTL

Sam,

Let me start by saying that I am genuinely saddened by your actions (or, rather, inactions) concerning my order placed on July 28. It was my hope that, given the breadth of your offerings, it would be the first of many orders that I would place with 5MTL. I assure you that it will now be both my first and last order.

When you finally responded to my repeated e-mails last Thursday, you assured me that the order had been sent, that it must have been lost, and that you would resend the order that night. Yet you never provided a tracking number for the supposed initial shipment, nor did you provide a tracking number for the "second" shipment, as you had promised in that e-mail.

And so we come down to this: I need for you to provide me with a tracking number for whatever package is currently in the mail to me by Monday, August 28,9 pm EDT. At this point, it will be one full month since I placed the initial order. I don't care about any past tracking numbers, or whether or not you ever actually did send either of those shipments. And don't bother protesting that you did make those shipments unless you are prepared to give me tracking numbers for those. As far as I'm concerned, they never happened. You have until Monday to get a package in the mail and an e-mail to me with the tracking number for said package.

Should I not receive said e-mail with the requested details (or, short of an e-mail, the actual materials I ordered) by Monday, I will set about contacting every online fraud reporting website available to me, with a full transcript of our e-mail dealings, including this one. And then you can go on there and protest that you sent it three times and lost money on it and I was uncooperative and unrealistic in my demands and that I should be contacted again and asked if I got the materials, by which time I'm sure a package will finally be in the mail. And I'll then go back on and say, yes I finally got it (which, from what I've seen of other online complaints about 5MTL posted recently, is more than anyone else did for you), but the damage will be done. I will also pursue whatever remedies are available to me to recover the $35.98 I paid for this order.

I don't write this e-mail with any anger or malice. There's no need for any of that. I'm just laying it all out for you. The choice is yours. I hope that you will do the sensible thing and fulfill this order immediately and contact me ASAP with a tracking number so that we can both move forward and avoid any unpleasantness. Considering that your website says that orders will be fulfilled in 2-3 business days and that tracking numbers will be made available upon request, and that you have not followed up on anything promised in the one e-mail you have sent to me in response to my repeated inquiries, I think you will agree that I am being quite civil in this interaction, and my hope is that it can be resolved in the same spirit.

Sincerely,
[me]

8/21 from 5MTL to me (almost immediately after I sent above e-mail)

Hello,

Here is your new tracking number:

910114800860062#

Please let me know if this does not arrive by Monday of next week. I am
VERY sorry for the delay.

Thanks,
Sam

8/21 from me to 5MTL

Sam,

Just checked it. There is no current record of this number on the US Postal Service website; however, if you just sent it or printed out a mailing label today, it may not be in the system yet. I'll check it again over the next couple of days.

Now was that so hard? Not to be cheeky, but jeez, Sam, just answering any one of my last 3 e-mails in the past week would've kept me from going all hardline on ya.

I am assuming that is a USPS tracking number. Please let me know if you are using a different service. Thanks.

Sam,

Label/Receipt Number: 9101 1480 0860 062# # #
Status: Electronic Shipping Info Received

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on August 21 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available.information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.

This is the only message that the USPS has shown since Friday morning, indicating that you generated a mailing label but that the order may still not have been received by USPS. Please let me know when the package is in the mail.

8/27 from me to 5MTL

Sam,

This is really becoming quite laughable. I've had shipments from halfway across the globe move faster than this. That tracking number needs to move from "electronically notified" to "processed and left" by Friday 5 pm or I'm releasing the hounds. Your generating a mailing label means jack squat. This needs to be in the mail. Make it so by Friday or deal with what comes your way. This is not an idle threat.

I've given you the benefit of the doubt three times now. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times, and you will feel my wrath.

[me]

8/29 from me to 5MTL

Sam,

There has been absolutely no movement on the package since the initial acknowledgment of the assignment of a tracking number. The USPS website still does not acknowledge receipt of the actual package. Given the numerous delays, excuses and unkept promises, the only logical conclusion I can make is that you are, at best, a horribly inept businessperson, or at worst, a willfully deceptive con artist.

I am therefore canceling my order, effective immediately. Please reimburse my CC account the amount of $35.98 no later than Tuesday, Sept. 2, at 5 pm. If I have not receive reimbursement by that time, I will instigate proceedings with my bank to ensure that I recover said funds. Thank you.

[me]

Let the record show that I made multiple attempts to contact Sam and have this issue resolved. Let the record also show that in those few instances where Sam responded, he made promises to resolve the issue and then did nothing.

Sam's MO seems to be to blame the other party in every instance, painting disgruntled customers as being irrational or uncooperative. It does seem, however, that Sam has been far more responsive to issuing rebuttals to this website than he has to answering e-mails or acting on his promises. I expect he'll be on here in the next 24 hours to defend himself, either to say that he has shipped the items or has reimbursed me, but I assure you that, at the time of this writing, I have no indication of either having been done.
