On 7-29-08 we hired van to move our trailer from jacksonville NC to pikeville TN. He charged us 4800.00 for this. The first week he told me the guys had problems with a branch over my trailer. I told them to go to the office of the park and ask if they can cut the branch. Then we were told that they got the branch cut down and was on the road with my trailer. On that friday we called again about the progress.
Van told my step father that they were on I40 waiting for a permit. Well it was after hours so i knew that was a lie. So i called my best friend in NC and had her check and see if my trailer was there. She went over and there it sat. No one had even been there. So my husband in Iraq calls the park office, she had told us no one has even been there to ask about anything.
So we called Van he acted like he knew nothing about it. Then promised that he himself would be there the following day to take care of it.instead he sends a husband and wife team and that was the whole team. They took 4 days to unstrap the trailer didnt bring enough axles so had to buy 3 more. Then they got stuck 3 times and had to have the guys at the park help get them out and we got charged for that.
They didnt pay the guys at the park we asked. Then they left my air unit there and acted like it was no big deal my home owners insurance should take care of it, is what i got. When they, "went to get it", i was told it wasnt there. This is over the weekend. They called me friday and told me they were in GA. I asked them if they got the air unit, they said they didnt know they had to, it is in our contract they will get the air unit.
I even went to get my things out of storage a few weeks before we were moving the trailer and called and asked are they sure they are gonna take the air unit i got yes. So i didnt grab it. When i asked them if they were gonna go back to get it they said yes. So saturday i tried to call both the mover and Van no answer. Sunday at 6 in the morning i get a call from the mover saying the air unit has been stolen and they called the law.
When i asked if they were still there, he said no. That Van was taking care of it. I called van he told me i had to file the report so i can sign it. I live in AL. Now. Im wasnt gonna drive 11 hours for that. So monday the mover called the park. They told him they had it. Then after him telling he unhooked the air unit himself from the trailer, that the park came took it before they moved the trailer. So i called the park and asked.
She said they got it because the movers pulled out on sturday, not friday, and left sitting there. So she had her guys get for us so no one would take it. So they didnt even go back. And didnt make it to GA. Friday. Finally monday i get a call saying my trailer is in pikeville TN. 3 weeks later from the start date. Once they get to my land he decides the land isnt ready for my trailer and said the road he had to go down was to narrow for his truck. And told us we had to store the trailer somewhere so they can bring a speacial truck to move it in.
They were just gonna set my trailer on the church land with out asking tha paster. I said no way! So i asked and was told yes. The mover promised this man that the trailer would be moved off when i got the land ready and they were able to get thetruck they needed to do it. No more than a week he said. I was told when i cut down my 6 beautiful trees down to give VAN a call he would be there in 24 hours.
So that thursday i called Van told him the land would be ready tuesday to move it in. Thats 4 days notice. He said no problem they would be there tuesday. So that same day i called him to let him know that the fence and camper that was on the land had been moved so theycould get in. Then he told me he wouldnt be able to do it tuesday maybe wedensday. I told him wedensday isnt good for me cause my daughter goes to school mon., wed., fri.
So he said thursday. Wed after my daughter got out of school we went to TN. Stayed the night in a motel, got up at 7, called van at 7:30. He said they were on their way andwould be there in about 2-3 hours. At 12noon i called van, no answer. 1:00 i call van no answer so at 3:00 i went back home to AL. Couldnt get van to answer for me or my husband. My step dad calls, because van didnt know his number and got an answer on the 2nd ring. Then finally my husband calls and gets a answer van gave another line of B.S. Of why they didnt make it.
So he told my husband he would be there friday and would call me. If they couldnt make it friday then he would forsure do it saturday.in TN you cant move a over size load on weekends. So now i have to hire someone else to move the trailer in and set it up on my land. It has been 3 weeks now that my trailer has been setting on the church parking lot.
