Received a letter offering me a position as a mystery shopper. Along with the letter was a check for $3993.00 to deposit to my checking account. My pay was $300.00 the remainder to be used for assignment

I received a letter 8/19/08, offering me a position with Nexus Monitoring & Research Group. Along with the letter was a check for $3993.00 to be used on my first assignment, $300.00 of which was my salary for my three hour training ($100.00/hr). I called 514-839-7561 to verify the receipt of the letter. I was asked if I had deposited it. I had not. I was instructed to deposit it and then call back. I had intended to contact the bank on the check for verification the next day, as well as the BBB. I went on line to Google the company and came across this website and read a report containing similar information. If it sounds too good to be true it isn't!
