We test drove a 08 Taurus and had ask the salesman to run our credit through Redstone Federal Credit Union. We filled out the forms and the salesman returned and told us that the price of the car was $22,895.00, they would give us $1,500.00 for a trade-in and if we would pay $2,500.00 down then they could let us have the car for $549.00 a month. I asked the salesman if they had ran it with Redstone like we asked and he said he don't know, ask him if that was 36 months and again he don't know Asked him to find out and he returned and said the load was for 60 months but refused to say the interest rate.
That $14,155.00 interest on a $18,895.00 loan over 5 years. They finally ran it through Redstone and the interest was a little over $3,000.00 witch made the payment $330.00 a month. We asked them to knock off $2,895.00 on the car and we would buy it. They said they were not making anything on the car now they were just trying to get a sale. We left. 2 days later the salesman sent a letter asking us to come back down and talk about the car. The letter had their web address on so I went to their site and it listed their inventory, I looked up that car. The one they were not making anything on and they had it listed for $17.808.00, over $5,000 less than their bottom & only price for us.
