SWDISCOUNTERS, FACTORYDEALZ, SWDISCOUNTERS, FACTORYDEALZ, SURPLUSDEALZ05, CONSUMERDEPOT, SURPLUS sold me equipment that is registered under someone else's name

I ordered a vonage ready wireless router from consumer depot. I received it in a timely manner, yet when I tried to register it, here is the message I got: The MAC address you entered is associated with an existing Vonage account. Please call our Customer Care department at 1-866-293-5676 for immediate assistance. So, I called them, they then informed me that the equipment I was trying to register was still registered under someone else's name; the account was still active! So, the bottom line: The equipment was useless as one is unable to use equipment that is registered and still active under someone else's name. It amazes me how someone can get away with such under-handed practices!
