Like many others, I too have been ripped off by Vonage. I ordered 3 lines for my home. I was told by 2 different sales people on the phone that if I canceled & returned all equipment in 30 days, I would be refunded ALL my money.
I installed the equipment for 1 line. The static was unbearable. So the next day (that is the day after I received the equipment), I called to cancel & again was assured a full refund. I mailed the equipment back the same day.
When Vonage received the equipment, I was refunded only for 1 line. When I called to inquire Vonage tells me the fine print says one is refunded only for the first line, not for any additional lines in the home. Nice trick huh? They also tell me equipment must be returned in 14 days, not 30. I got lucky there by returning it immediately.
So I then file a complaint with the BBB. I got a letter from Vonage concerning my complaint which basically said, Sorry, you lose.
The mistake I made here is not reading the fine print. With large companies like this, I for one can get lazy with the fine print. One assumes large company = legitimate. Never again.
