Sent information about a reduced amount and never received it

I was sent mail that stated that I would get a reduced amount by returning to directv, but when I received my first bill I was charged the full amount. When I called and ask why, I was told that I did not qualify for the reduced rate.in my opinion, they voided the contract, by not ageeing to their advertisement.
