Fraudlent Tax Companies are abundant today. As a taxpayer, we have to be careful with who files our tax returns. Be careful with tax preparers that offer the fatest refunds and with tax relief firms that settle your tax debt pennies on the dollar.
Tax Preparers can really put you in debt with the IRS. I have heard from a few acquaintances that went to a tax preparer that gave them a much bigger refund than from other preparers. The tax preparer got them a fat refund because the tax preparer cheated on the return to get them this fat refund check thru an anticpiation loan. The preparer made a lot of money even though it is unethical. THe tax preparer claimed unreimbursed expenses for the taxpayer.
The preparer tells the client not to worry and just save the receipts. A year or two later, the IRS questions the taxpayer and asks about these expenses. At this time, the taxpayer is very much screwed because the expenses are not deductible nor do they have the receipts. The IRS warns taxpayers to stay away from such tax preparers to avoid this mess. These tax preparers make so much money thru anticipation loans on refunds and thru tax filing fees. And if you are poor, you will be hit hard by the IRS for back taxes, interest and late fees.
Some of you will hire a tax resolution firm to help you with your back taxes. Tax Resolution Firms, like JK Harris & Co, will try to squeeze money out of you before the IRS does. JK Harris & Co was a part of class action lawsuit involving false advertising. They were advertising that they can resolve your back taxes pennies on the dollar. JK harris has many illegitimate competiitors as well that do the same. The tax resolution industry is a complete ripoff as is the credit repair scam industry.
JK Harris will make your situation seem hopeless. The nightmare cannot end unless you hire them. If you do hire, your tax nightmare will extend and grow. YOu will feel so bitter. I had the same feeling. Now, I will get my revenge with JK harris & Co. I will get the satisfaction of taking JK Harris & Co to small claims court. I have written to members of local politicians, senators, governers, etc to make aware of fraudlent tax businesses. I have written many articles here on usacomplaints.com about JK Harris & Co. If you really want to mess with jK Harris, just go outside their local offices are hold up picket signs. That type of protesting will catch the attention of this fraudlent company. IF you have been ripped off by jK Harris, do something about it and make life miserable for them. Complaining here does help as it brings awareness to a problem. Go a step further and take them to small claims court, write to government officials and protest.
