ITs hard to believe that JK Harris & Co is still around ripping off Americans. I can only blame the US government for a fraudlent company like JK Harris & Co to continue this practice. The Federal government does not care if a business is fraudlent as long as the government gets a share of it thru taxes. JK Harris & Co is a very profitable company that generates over millions in tax revenues. The Federal government do not care if JK Harris is fraudlent as long as they get their share. The founder of this degenerate company, John K Harris, gives kickbacks to politicians. This is why the government does not crack down on JK Harris & Co and its illegimiate practices.
JK Harris & Co is part of the most fraudlent industry (tax ressolution). The tax ressolution is lot like the credit repair scams. Jk Harris not only offers tax ressolution services thru their tax services but also offers credit repair so that they defraud a taxpayer twice.
In I had contracted with JK Harris to help resolve my back taxes. I initially met with a local representative of JK Harris in Fresno, CA. THis representative was nothing but a traveling salesman renting out a office space once a week. I called the 1 800 number of JK Harris to schedule my first appointment. JK Harris & Co trains their traveling salespeople to use scare tactics to lure taxpayers into a contract. ONe of the scare tactics used by the traveling salesperson of JK harris & Co was "what are you going to do when IRS levies your wages." The salesperson would also tell you should hire JK Harris to handle your back taxes since it has experienced enrolled agents, CPA's and lawyers to handle your case. This really do not mean much when JK Harris will never use them to handle your case. JK harris & co hires enrolled agents, CPA's and lawyers as a front for doing business. The salesperson told me that it is not a good idea to handle your case with the IRS. THe salespeople of JK Harris are trained to use scare tactics on their potential customers.
After JK harris & co did nothing for me for 2 years, I submitted my own OIC to the IRS and dealt with them on my own. It took me only 6 months for the IRS to accept my OIC. I had a $25,000 tax debt with the IRS which I settled for $3000 thru an OIC. I ended up saving over $20,000 by doing it myself. I truly believe that JK harris could not achieve such results for me. THe IRS does not accept every OIC that is submitted to them. Another problem with JK harris & co is that do they do not how to prepare an OIC or just prepares them incorrectly on purpose. JK Harris & Co prepares a required OIC as part of the contract with their client. It does not have to be prepared correctly however. JK Harris & Co do not care if your OIC is prepared correctly. They would rather have filled out wrong and get it rejected.
My advice is not to hire JK harris & Co or any tax resolution firm to do tax ressolution work. You should do the OIC yourself and not have goons like JK harris do it. If you have paying jK Harris on a monthly installment with a very high interest rate (over 18%), they will not do anything for you until you pay in full. WHat is worst is that they will report you to the credit bureaus if you do not pay in full. SHame on JK Harris that they cannot rip off their clients eneough that they have to charge a client a high interest rate. If you are in contract with JK harris, cancel the contract and stop paying them. You should also take them to small claims court as Peter (from Salem) has mentioned on usacomplaints.com. IF you are having an initial consultation with JK Harris & co, you have the right to say no.
