I would like to tell the public about a company to stay away from. I'm a school teacher that doesn't have a lot of free time on my hands and on one of the rare occassions that I was able to take some time to shop, I was introduced to a company called MTI or mobile telesys inc. An individual there named edith romo attempted to scam me about a week ago. She informed me that she worked for verizon and that she could save me money on my cell phone. I approached her to listen to what she had to say. She began to speak about the company I have service with and told me that they were going out of service.
I asked her how she knew that they were going out of service and she told me she would need to see my driver's license i let her and then i realized she was running my credit. She told me that she could give me 5 phones if I would like to try her service out. She wouldn't give me my id back until i agreed to a "risk free" trial. I tried out the service for a week and when i returned to give back the phones I was told by the manager Christian Rodriguez that she no longer worked there and that he couldn't return the phones.
I called the customer service and found out that they were not verizon but they were a smaller dealer and that the lady was there district manager. I had to get the phones returned through there customer service dept. I met another fellow who worked for the company before and he informed me that the company trains there employee's to be dishonest. He didn't want to give me his name for fear of the wraith that would be inflicted upon him. My only advice to the consumer is if you are going to buy a verizon phone buy it from a direct store and not an authorized dealer.
