In March I went to the Killeen branch of Wells Fargo to see about getting my home refinanced. After all paperwork was turned in and I was approved by the mortgage consultant, an appraisal was done on my home. All I was waiting for now was a closing date. Days turned into weeks and I would constantly call to find out what the hold up was. I could never get through to her or the killeen office and would leave messages to please call me. I even went to the title company that was working with her and the company.
After weeks went by and no replies to my messages I called the title company asking them if they knew what was going on. The lady told me that they (being the title company) was told to forget about it apparently it had been denied. I immediately called again and left a message telling them I needed to know what was going on. I received a call from the Waco office telling me that the mortgage consultant had "resigned" or so they said. I knew something was not right since I had no call backs from the Wells Fargo branch in Killeen.
The Waco office proceeded to tell me that due to the information that was on my application I did not meet the requirements (income) qualified to refinance my home. The lady apologized for the inconvenience however all these weeks waiting to hear on a closing date, no one had the courtesy to call me to let me know that the mortgage consultant did not work with them anymore or also that my loan had been disapproved. The Waco Office (female) started asking me all the information all over again that I had already provided to the office in Killeen. This made me wonder "just where is my paperwork and application?" She said she did not know if they could help me and that she would have to check and call me the following Monday (this was on a Friday I spoke with the Waco Office)
I never received a phone call to this day from them and I feel they blew me off and all of this was not only an inconvenience but a terrible let down because I was told everything was fine and in order. Being a single mom this would have helped me out tremendously and I was very excited. I had heard about Wells Fargo from co-workers and friends and thought that they were a reputable company and had no idea that they would do this to a potential home owner trying to refinance. I have no respect for a company that would put someone through this.
This company in my opinion does not care for the customer nor has the decency to follow up by having another mortgage consultant taking over whatever mess was going on with the Killeen Office. They dropped the ball big time and with what hopes I had being approved for this loan turned out to be very disappointing and upsetting.
