We signed up for Uverse because my son is always playing Xbox Live, and I thought the idea of more television channels sounded great as well, not to mention the offer of a 200 rebate.
The first techs came out and were there 5 hours. They ran cable wires up our stairs instead of through the walls. They did not put outlets in our kids' rooms; they just ran the wires across the floors from the game room into their rooms, because they would not install our service properly. We have had a tech out to our home every single day for 10 days straight, and some of them were even there after 10 pm at night. A supervisor even came and took pictures with his cell phone, he was in such disbelief that the original installation techs could cause them to be sued.
Now here we are, having to schedule everything around these techs who are showing up every day, and still, with 3 kids at home, there is no, and I mean no, television or internet service.
Finally they got a signal that works, no kidding, for 30 minutes at a time, about 3 times a day, and nothing more.
In the last 12 days we have called at least 30 times and have spent at least 15 hours on the phone with AT&T. We cancelled our Charter cable service, and now they tell us it will be at least a week before they can send a tech out to reconnect our service, and there was an early cancellation fee too! So in all, our kids are miserable, because 2 of them are teenagers (so you already know), and we have about 100 dollars spent at Blockbuster, not to mention the hours we have spent on the phone and the time consumed by all this!
After all of this, the supervisor offers us $5 a day off our bill! What a joke!
