When I arrived, the office was hard to locate. I walked around the building a bit puzzled trying to locate suite 120. A man standing outside didn't even have to ask me where I was going; rather he pointed me in the right direction and said "suite 120?". It was a really eerie feeling. How did he know where I was headed?
The "business office" was outside of the actual office building rather than inside. It was nothing like what was featured on their website; it was a dismal small cracker jack box sized office with light blue painted walls. The receptionist, who called herself "Janie Yancy", was blaring loud music when I entered the office. The interview waiting room smelled like a doctors office; and was made even more comfortable by the cheap foldout-esque chairs.
There was about four other women that showed up during the time that I was waiting— also for interviews. I saw one woman exit from the admittance area. She appeared to be excited about her job prospects - I couldn't tell if it was staged or not.
Eventually, they pulled me into the back offices to interview me. I felt extremely uncomfortable. There was one guy in a suit; and a girl who did nothing but was supposedly "shadowing" him. They couldn't give me any specifics on - job duties or details, and wouldn't name any companies they were working for. They could not even provide me with companies that they were associated with. The only thing mentioned was that they provided marketing strategies to fortune 500 companies.
I overheard another interview in progress. A lady across the hall from me being interviewed for the same position. I don't know how many interview rounds she had. I suppose they believed she was a "good candidate". They were telling here to sign up for courses in marketing. I am lead to believe that it was a pyramid scheme. Take classes; sell classes.
