Well, I was not surprised to see one other report about these guys, but am shocked there isn't more than one. A credit card account I had (I admit) I let fall delinquent was turned over to my good friends at Presidio Financial LLc and their cohorts, the law firm of Curtis O. Barnes. I finally called them back after they began harrassing my parents about me and calling my work. I spoke with Mr. Shaw, and began explaining to him why the account was delinquent - could not get a word in edgewise and was talked over the entire conversation. Long story short, I was transferred to three different people, all of who tried to bully me into making a lump sum payment over the phone or else they would contact my employer, informing that since I worked for the government I might be in trouble or lose my job if my employer learned of any legal action against me. (Sounds like a threat, doesnt it) Then they tried (I was transferred to two different people and told some other person of a supervisory capacity was listening to our recorded conversation) to get me put the debt onto another credit card. I told them I could not do this and they mentioned an American Express I had shared with my mom in the past, telling me they could do a conference call with my mom right now. I explained to them that my mother was elderly and I would not do that to her. Mr. Shaw said my mother must not care about me and I should find a friend who cared and get help from them. I offered Mr. Shaw $500.00 in eight business days (my next paydate) and one hundred dollars a month. The debt is only $2400.00 He refused it. He then continued to personally insult me by telling me I was "refusing" to pay this debt and told me to enjoy my lawsuit, find a friend that cared about me because obviously my mom doesnt, etc. Etc. I cant even begin to recall all the things I was told - I have never been talked to in this manner in all my life and I wonder how this man sleeps at night. Oh, and by the way, while he insulted me personally and insinuated repeatedly what a terrible person I am because I just dont want to pay my debts, stated in the next breath he knew I could pay this debt because he had seen my credit report and all my other debts (mortgage, car, etc) were always paid and up to date. We will see what happens next...
