I posted a want ad on Craigslist.org for an authentic Louis Vuitton bag. On June 4th, [email protected] (A.K. A Brandi Pifer, name of her business may be Timeluxe) responded to my ad, claiming that she had an authentic Louis Vuitton Tobago Carryall (red) for sale (retail price of bag is $2,200.00). Through email, she guaranteed that the bag was authentic and we arranged payment and shipment (I paid $300 for the bag through Paypal.com - payment was sent from my PayPal account to seller's PayPal acc't ([email protected]). I received the bag on June 9th by USPS Priority mail (delivery confirmation # is 0307 3330 0001 3319 9823) and on June 10th, I brought the bag to the Louis Vuitton Boutique at Macy's at Herald Square, NY. I was told by a salesperson that the bag was not their own (a polite way of saying that the bag is a replica). The same day, I contacted the seller through email and demanded a refund to be sent first, followed by return of the bag to the seller. Seller refused to send refund through PayPal FIRST. I finally agreed to ship the bag first and wait for refund after it was delivered. Seller refused to refund anything at this point, claiming that I had given her attitude (through email) and called her names. I've filed a claim w / PayPal. PayPal has denied my claim - as per their user agreement, they may deny any claims simply based on the attributes of a shipped item. PayPal will not refund my money, nor will the seller. I do not have to receive my refund through PayPal - it can be by money order or cash. I want the seller to pay me back.
