Lost USD 598 on a Caribbean holiday scam

I was contacted by a so-called James White for a holiday in the U.S. With 6 days in Orlando Florida, and 5 days in the Bahamas at Calypso Cay resort. The phone conversation went on for over half an hour, with the phone operators being most persuasive despite my initial scepticism.
In the end, they extracted my MC details.
After the phone call, I tried to call the number back because I had a nasty feeling and the phone number that had been given me - 1800 092368 - was non-existent.
So that confirmed my (although too late) suspicions.
My money was gone and so was the holiday.
