Keeping 25% deposit on furniture that was ordered and not recieved

Ordered a dining table and 4 chairs on a sunday 5-03-08 costing about $1800.00 had to put 25% down and salesman cody cullers said if problem i could get my money back. Called back two days in a roll, salesman off. Third day i keep calling and salesman said he would call back and never did, finally called back an demanded to talk with manager, cody said would not make a difference and said furniture would be here the 14th may. Ordered bunk bed $300 also. Had to pick up the 14 or 15th. 14th. On 5-14 I called salesman (cody) again, he said dining table and chairs and bunk bed did not come in. I wanted to cancel since they did not come in and he said they would keep 25%, i had no choice. Even if they did not have it in the time stated. Would not let me talk with manager and managers were always to busy. Cody (salesman) said i was cusing, which i was not, like he was trying to impress someone on the other end. He then hungup on me, (the customer). Customer service said i was stuck and had to pay the 25% and was just as unhelpful. If you sign and even if they can not get the item in the time stated they will keep your 25%. Why is this company still in business? BBB HAS THEM AS A BAD BUSINESS, guess i should have look ahead of my buy.
