Stay off the highway from Tuscon to San Carlos/Mazatlan/PV, Mexico. I drove the toll road to San Carlos and now have a broken windshield and two bent rims. The highway is plagued with maniac 18 wheelers. I believe with all the activity from the free trade agreement the trucks have torn apart the road and of course there are few if any weigh scales on the road. They charge for a road filled with potholes. I drove under the speed limit and had to avoid potholes for hours. I called the embassy and of course they didn't even bother returning my call. Save your money and your car and avoid this mexican toll road ripoff.
