A man came by, my neighbor and I were out front talking and he represented himself to be from Universal Gas & Electric, and wanted to save us money on our Gas bill. Of course sounded interesting. He asked to see a copy of my gas bill, and showed me where I pay. 773 ccf for gas, with the program he was selling if at any time the gas rate rose above 1.04, I would be locked in at that price to not go higher for 5 years. I thought that sounded good, so said sure. While we were on the porch talking Universal Gas and Electric called to verify, his explaining of the program, and his pleasant attitude, He was a very personable gentleman so I said yeah he was cool. When I get the introduction letter, they start the billing out at 1.04. I am locked into the higher frice for 5 years, when I explain this is not what he told me, they told me If I wanted to cancel with them, it will cost me 250.00.
