Hello, another proud owner of the Silicon Solar "we duped you" award.

Long story short, I ordered two ULX ground lights, and a commercial sign light from Silicon Solar last May.

The initial customer service was fantastic - friendly and helpful, but probably only because I was spending money.

Anyways, I was told that the Commercial Sign Light was back ordered, but the ULX lights would be on the way. If there were any issues with the product, I was promised fast and easy return and charge back policies from them - but they also told me I would not be disappointed with the product.

In approximately 1 week, I received the ULX lights, and tried them out that night. What a full disappointment. The product wasn't even close to what they oadvertised. Anyways, I sent them DHL the next day and about a week later I had received my money back to the credit card.

Approximately 3 weeks past the initial purchase, I still had not received my commercial sign light. I contacted them, and they stated that it would be on the way within one more week. Approximately one week later it arrived.

Bear in mind, we are now one month past original purchase.

As soon as I tried the commercial sign light (advertised to light up to a 20 foot flag pole) it was again another fantastic failure. I repeated the prior process and sent the light back to Silicon Solar the next day.

After about 2 weeks, I checked my credit card to see if the money was refunded, and it hadn't been. I immediately contacted Silicon Solar, and was told that ACCOUNTING had to deal with the issue, and they could not transfer me to them, but they would be happy to have them call me back.

(sponge bob insert here) 2 Weeks later (after numerous calls and dead ends)

I call them back, and find out that they investigated my claim, but had not received the returned light, and saw that there was no need to refund my purchase. A quick check of the DHL slip showed delivered, but yet they refused to admit that they had received it.

Enter the bbb...

Well I do the lowest level thing, and contact the BBB looking for a simple resolution. After the standard period, my reply back from the company through the BBB was that they did not receive the product and had no obligation to refund or replace the product. YAY.

Right as I am about to call the Credit Card Company - DHL shows up with a box from Silicon Solar. It has an Infrasolite 4x light in it.

I immediately contact the company, and inform them that I will send back the light on the condition they they credit my CC.

Matthew Farrel, the VP personally told me that he apologized for the inconvenience, and was looking forward to resolving the issue.

Being an honest person, but more or less a sucker to this company, I sent the item back on good faith - and with the idea that a real product was being returned, with traceable means - therefore I had nothing to lose.

Wrong

They received the item, and again nothing on the Credit Card.

I re initiate the process with the BBB, and was given an answer that I had returned the product, and SILICON SOLAR had refunded me all that was due to my CC and was not going to refund anything further. The funny thing is that they showed the refund for the lesser priced ULX light. Not the 230 Dollars for the commercial sign light.

Great.

Now Enter the CC company. I am in current dispute action with my CC. At this point, the CC has attempted to collect the money back from Silicon Solar, but Silicon Solar refused because they state...

... They issued me a Gift Certificate for the amount less the shipping, and restocking fees. Therefore the CC is honoring Silicons Denial. Sounds like someone (Silicon Solar) found a loop hole.

But, whats funny, is now I have them in a lie between two BBB reports, and a CC Dispute. WITH NO PROOF that they even sent me a Gift Certificate.

Unfortunately the battle isn't over yet, as I will have to go through the CC again to prove this.

Bottom line, this company will STEAL from you. I consider this outright theft and a bait and switch in a classic way.

Do not purchase from this company

I hope Matthew and his companions are having a good time funding their holiday parties with mine, and others money.
