On or about March 28th my workers cleaned for the Rent-a-Center and mgr. John Doroba of Dawson Springs, KY.
We have cleaned furniture, carpets, upholstery, stripped/waxed floors/power washed trucks, cleaned windows Professionally, since about 2004.
On or about April 06, John Doroba refused to pay for services as stated in the Kentucky law 514.060 Theft of Services, and lied to the police, etc. Using the government to get me in trouble as he started a fight and even chased me. The door was locked, so that may be considered Criminal Confinement, and the threat of calling the police after starting the fight, is under 514.080 "Theft by Extortion" to wit:
(1): A person is guilty of theft by extortion when he intentionally obtains property of another by threatening to:
(f) Testify or provide information or withhold testimony or information with respect to another's legal claim or defense.
KRS 514.060 Theft of Services (Kentucky Criminal Law):
(1) (a) The person intentionally obtains services by deception or threat or by false token or other means to avoid payment for the services which he knows are available only for compensation;
(b) (4) Use of deception, threat, or other means to avoid payment for the services which the person knows are available only for charge or compensation;or
(2) Where compensation for services is ordinarily paid immediately upon the rendering of the services, as in the case of hotels and restaurants, refusal to pay or absconding without payment or offer to pay shall be prima facie evidence that the services were obtained by deception as to intention to pay.
(4) Theft of services is a Class A misdemeanor unless the value of the service is three hundred dollars ($300) or more, in which case it is a Class D Felony.
This store, as I was informed, has a poor rating with the BBB with thirty some odd complaints.
I believe that the County Attorney or prosecutor should file criminal charges against the manager as stated, John Doroba 7825 Ilsley Road, Dawson Springs, KY. (270) 821 2444, who is employed by Rent-a-Center, 90 Madison Square Drive, Madisonville, KY. 270-836-9574 and pardon me for them being malicious and biased.
Another Rent-a-Center on 520 E. Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN. Breached the contract we agreed upon and attempted to steal services. He had his employee use carpet vacuum powder on the freshly cleaned, damp carpet, and it stayed on the carpet since it was damp. Bob the manager, stated that we did it, but the employee of Rent-a-Center stated that he was ordered by Bob the manager of the Rent-a-Center to use the carpet vacuuming powder to vacuum the floors. He is guilty of attempted theft by trying to convince me that we did it.
This complaint is true to the best of my knowledge and beliefs.
Anyone that services this business, is in danger of going to jail, if you are in a disagreement trying to get paid for your services. I was also assaulted by the police on aug. 10 after this man did this to me, thus being a violation of civil rights.
