First, I wanted to comment on the above post. His recommendation was to shop with Barnes & Noble rather than Amazon. I just wanted to give all of you fair warning that this company also sells through Barnes & Noble, eBay, Half.com, and Amazon. I'm sure there are other companies that are crazy enough to let these people continue to sell on their sites, but these are the ones that I know of. I supposed it's my own fault for not reading all of their ratings first, but when you see a 90% satisfactory rate, you assume most people are happy. But, then you look at the detail and see that there are literally thousands of unhappy customers, it puts things in perspective.
I ordered a book with these people through Barnes & Noble on September 9th. I received an e-mail later that day stating that the order had been shipped. I'm thinking "great, very quick service". However, on the 14th, I got online to see if I could get a tracking number, as I haven't received my book yet, and I see this message: "delay in shipping out your order". Needles to say, I came unglued!
There is no way to contact this company via phone. Everything has to be done via e-mail or fax, so I sent an e-mail. I received a response later in the day that stated I should log onto their website, as their was a message for me from customer service. This is what I got: "Your order has been shipped on September 14th"... Not the original tale of the 9th... How convenient for them. I'm also told that the item has been shipped via media mail, and could take 4-14 days, and "in some cases, 21 days". What a load of crap!
It just so happened that I was in the process of selling a book on eBay, so when the auction was over and I received payment on the 19th... 5 days after they supposedly mailed out my book... I mailed out my book that I had just sold via media mail. Now, this book was having to go from Maryland to California... All the way across the U.S. That book was received in California by the buyer on the 25th! 6 days after I had mailed it.
Now, where is my book that was supposedly mailed from New Jersey (3 states away from me) on the 14th?! Who knows! What I do know is that I have contacted my credit card company to dispute the charges as "services not received", have filed a complaint with BBB, and have posted about these people on EVERY site that I know they sell on.
Please go to Amazon, B & N, ebay, and Half.com... Read the detailed ratings on these people... Warn EVERYONE you know! DO NOT buy from these people! They are unethical, incompetent, and crooks as far as I'm concerned!
