Tulsa, OK protects its paying members against consumer complaints

On September 5 I filed a complaint to the Tulsa, OK Better Business Bureau regarding my experience with Relocation LLC a partner of National Van Lines. I also reported my experience on this website. I apparently had some of my goods stolen by the movers, as they seemed to have disappeared. I also had furniture damaged by the movers. I had notified the owner of both occurrences. I never heard from the movers so I notified the Better Business Bureau.
I received the following email from the Better Business Bureau

RE: Case # 38011192: Relocation, LLC

Thank you for contacting the Better Business Bureau regarding your complaint. The complaint was received by the BBB on September 5 and has been assigned case# 38011192 in our files.

We regret to inform you that the Better Business Bureau cannot process your complaint. The case has been reviewed by one of our Complaint Specialists and was found to contain issues that are out of the BBB's purview. It is our policy to process only those complaints that fall into the BBB's scope. Items such as landlord/tenant issues, criminal allegations,
requests for punitive damages, employer/employee disputes, cases already involved in litigation, civil right violations, business to business collection
issues, third party complaints, etc. Are not handled by the BBB.

We would suggest that you file a police report and seek legal advice. The number to Legal Aid of Tulsa is 918-584-3338 and to contact Small Claims Court is 918-596-5459.

Thank-you for contacting the Better Business Bureau.
Sincerely,

Angela,

I have filed a police report in regards to the stolen box. However, if you cannot process a complaint regarding furniture damaged by the movers that they have not repsonded to, what CAN you file a report on?

Thanks

I did send your information over to the company for them to address the furniture damage. I can not however report on stolen property. That is for the police. The company will have 7 days to reply to your remarks.

Since once again Relocation, LLC did not respond to my complaint to resolve anything, I notified the BBB of the non-response.

I have never received any response from Relocation LLC regarding my complaint on
the furniture damage. I filed a police report on the larceny that took place.
Thanks

After this correspondence I never heard anything from the BBB. They never logged the complaint on the profile on the business. So there is a possibility that others have filed complaints on the business, but because they pay to be a member, the BBB doesn't list the complaints.

It appears that if you are a "Bad" business, you can pay to be a member of the BBB and they will protect you.
