They're attempting to make me pay an account that has been paid off and it's more than 17 years old. Ripoff

This company is doing the same scam like many others, trying to collect money for accounts that either have been closed, paid off, or not belonging to the right person. They're also trying to collect money from a company that has been out of business for more than 15 years.
