I was reviewing my latest credit card statement that I received in the mail and found the following entry/charge:
PACIFIC WEB WORKS TEL8015789020 UT $49.90
I attempted to contact the company to find out what this charge was for and they did not respond to my email and/or phone inquiries. When I looked them up on the internet to get their contact info, I noticed tons of search results for this company related to credit card fraud and scams. I called my credit card company to dispute the charges as well as report my card as lost or stolen (even though it wasn't) so the account would be immediately closed and not allow any further charges from this company. While talking to the credit card company, I asked if between my last statement and today, what other recent transactions occurred on my account. We found that the same company, using one of their aliases, charged the same $49.90 again one month after the first charge. This entry showed up as:
PW/E Auction/801-578-9020 UT
Notice the same exact company phone number! Needless to say, they messed with the wrong person. I will be contacting the media as well as my state attorney to pursue this matter further.
