On 4-17-00 I purchased a drug dog (to be used for searching for illegal drugs at schools) for Tom Brenneman. I went to a two week "class" to be trained with the dog. During the insruction I often raised my concerns about the dogs lack of drive and lack of discipline i.E. It kept running off anytime it was taken off the leash.
I was constantly assured that the dog needed only a few weeks to bond with me and she would begin to behave well.
After completing this training course and somehow passing it with no test at all. I took the dog home to begin the bonding time.
After two months of intensive home bonding and training, the dog was still basically worthless. I contacted Brenneman who agreed to take the dog back, retrain it, resell it and refund my money ($2500).
He took the dog bag, supposedly retrained and and resold it, yet forgot to return my money.
He soon relocated his business, quit returning my calls and emails and pretty much screwed me out of the money and the dog.
At one point during this ordeal, he did send me an email that said he had sold the dog, but had suffered a heart attack before he could complete the training of the new owner. He assured me that as soon as he was able to get back to work my check would be in the mail.
That was my last contact with him over 1 and 1/2 years ago.
