This company went arround the neighborhood selling this product door to door. I let them in and let them explain their deal to me. Make my water better for me and my kids. Sounded great to me.
They tested my water. Showed me what appeared to be impurities. Showed me how hard my water was. The proceeded to show me what their product would do for me. I would use less soap, less cleaning supplies, overall save money.
The reverse osmosis system under the sink would keep my kids from the awful bacteria in the city water. It was state of the art, simple instillation, and then I would be set.
Financed the sale, I thought it was pricey. My then boyfriend warned me that I was making a mistake but I didn't listen. The reverse osmosis went under the kitchen sink and the other tanks under the house. Got a warranty and a garantee. My only responsibility per warranty would be the salt pellets every three months.
A year later, I get a call saying that in order for my warranty to continue being valid I had to have three filters changed at the nice price of $213.00. And not just this year but every year.
I was livid. What filters? Why wasn't I told of this in the beginning? We argued. I showed them my warranty. No medium between us until I called the Better Business Bureau people. I got my filters changed for free and never heard from them again.
Why is that if this was necessary? They went out of business and I was stuck paying every month. I was told I couldn't use other filters because that went against the warranty. Ok I get that. But now that they were gone, what was I to do.
I get a call in 2006 from a later that bought the company and restarted the business. She wanted to help me by checking my water for free and advising me to have the filters changed for the same price of $213.00. I explained the issues of before and the whole warranty thing. She was no help whatsoever.
I have sinced priced similar systems to find that I had been scammed and most of the similar systems are half the price I paid for mine and without these "filter changes" that they all inquire about.in short, there were no filter changes for anything other than the reverse osmosis crap under the sink. So what filters did that fellow go under the house and change with the free change? None. It was for show.
