Scam! Address doesn't even exist! Don't be taken advantage of! A legitimate lottery or contest will not make you transfer money, if something is owed like taxes, they will be automatically withdrawn from the winning amount. Lotto Canada

I received a letter in the mail with a Canadian stamp. Figured it was a rip off but would see what it said. Apparently I won $200,000 in U.S. Funds! Of course this was a final notice because all the others went unanswered, there was no other letters or I would have posted this much sooner. I open everything, even junk.

Anyway, they tell you to contact Ms. Karen Miller at 1-888-259-5895 ext. 1 or at 1-647-436-1235 ext. 1 or the winnings will be forfeited to the government (according to NALC 701 subsection C). They give a reference code and everything to use and then they give the name of Mr. Marc Williams, who is supposed to be an Internal Revenue Officer handling the file. They even put what resembles a notory stamp is the lower part of the letter.in the center it says "confirmed" and around the outside it says "North American Lotto Commision". It all looks so very authentic, and trustworthy, they even go so far as to tell you to keep you lottery winnings private, to ensure your own safety. They enclosed a check for $3,987.57 to cover the IRS non-resident fee. I guess I should also mention this is the 4th check I received in the mail today. My name must have been sold in a bundle and they wasted no time.

I looked this company up online and only found one site that said this was a scam, so I did a search for the address and it doesn't exist. The address they give is 355 County Rd., Ontario, K6A 2Y3. I'm not sure how Canada works with their zips, but K6A does exist but the extension 2Y3 doesn't. County Road also doesn't exist in Ontario. Well I just wanted to post this, the other 3 letters I searched was really easy to find out they were a scam, I think this one must be new. So I just wanted to put the info out there for anyone else receiving this letter today or in the future. Please be careful, you know if you entered any contests or lotteries. Most stores you shop at will have some kind of drawing if you call and do a short survey, you're entered to win $1000 or some such amount. Please don't take the chance, if these checks are deposited into you account and you forward their money, a few months later the bank will be contacting you saying the check went bad and you will be responsible to repay the whole amount.

A legitimate lottery or contest will not make you transfer money, if something is owed like taxes, they will be automatically withdrawn from the winning amount.

If this information gets around, maybe less people will get scammed each year and these places will be put out of business. I feel so strongly about these scams because my grandma almost got scammed a few weeks ago by Reliable Surety Group.

Thankfully, I do her banking and found the check. She's on a fixed income, what would have happened if she would have deposited that check and had to pay back almost $4000? Sometimes it's hard for her to pay her property taxes, she would have lost everything. Thanks to all for your time. Please pass this around and tell people and warn your parents and grandparents, who might be a little too trusting and believe these scams.
