Stryden Staffing
A Free Day of Work

I received a call from a recruiter to come interview for a recruiting position with this company. I was told that a representative was going to be in town for a few days to do interviews. When I arrived at the office, I saw a room that looked like a couple of temporary work stations. This was understandable since they were only in town for a few days. I interviewed and was contacted later that night and asked to come back the following day for a 'working interview'.

They said I would be there for a few hours to get a feel for the job. I basically got scammed into working an entire day without a break and no pay. I was told by the woman that interviewed me that she would contact me later that night or the next morning to inform me of their decision. I never heard from them again.

Oh and that office of theirs that looked like it was temporary was their actual permanent office for the area. I suppose when one runs a questionable business, it is important to be able to pack up and leave quickly.

It is illegal in the state of Texas to put people to work and not pay them. Maybe they think they are clever by calling it an eight hour 'interview' but it was simply a day of work. I wonder how many other people they get free labor out of. I intend to put in a formal complaint with the Texas Workforce Commission.

I cannot speak for the actual jobs that Stryden Staffing offers externally, but the recruiting position appears to be a scam that cost me an entire day that otherwise could have been spent looking for a real job.
