I've rented a house from this slumlord for several years and have had extensive issues with everything from plumbing to electrical problems. He only attempts to "fix" (and I use this term loosely) something if I withhold my rent payments. I finally learned to make the repairs out of my pocket and then deduct the total cost from my rent.
Last month, the furnace caught fire and the fire dept disconnected the gas which meant that my kids and I had no heat or hot water. And as of today... We're still without either. This sorry excuse for a human being won't answer when I call him and won't even return my calls... So I typed up a letter, had it notarized and sent to his office. Still no response. So I called the city to file a complaint.
I would advise anyone who knows this deadbeat to keep your distance. Don't under any circumstances rent a house from this man!
