I, was also taken for a ride by Jim Walter Homes. It goes without saying that their materials and workmanship is inferior to anyone. They built me a house for 108.000 dollors that only appraised for 79.000. I counld not get any insurance company to insure it, except for Best Insurors which is owned by Jim Walter at at a very high price. They forged my name on a paper assigning them 3 acres of my land, when it was only to be 1 acre. They refused to have a closing, even though I had named an
attorney to close. They did not finish the house, I never signed that the house was finished but the general manager, Jimmy said Jim Walter had done all they were going to do. They never came back again, no matter how many times we called them about problems with the house. The builders put the kitchen cabinets up wrong, hot water was running into the toilet. The walls were
not straight, the floor had nails sticking up out of it. Closet doors were not installed, smoke detectors went off in the bedrooms when I tried to cook in the kitchen, even though there was no smoke. Electrical work was poor, you could get shocked by plugging in a lamp in the master bedroom. They failed to put the correct outlets and plug-ins around water. I have no idea why any state does nothing to protect the public from these
preditors We lost our house and land, even though there was no deed assigned to them. There must be laws to deal with these slick people.
