Beware of renting any property from Troff & Denning in Kalamazoo.in all my years of renting, I found them to be biggest rip-off of all time. These people have no sense of morality and only care about squeezing every single penny out of you.
They do it by lying and coming up with every possible trick/excuse to not return your rental deposit. Such tricks include fabricating non-existent damage, claiming missing shelves from closets, missing window blinds, missing door/window panels and ridiculous clean up rates (despite the unit being already clean).
Protect yourself from such slimeballs by taking date stamped photographs of all doors, windows, closets (inside and out), bathroom, floors and outside of your rental unit on the day you move out. Such photos may be used as evidence to counter their fictitious damage claims.
Pay special attention to the number of refrigerator & closet shelves as these slimeballs love picking on these by claiming them missing. Door and window panels are another favorite spot for them to extract money from you by claiming non-existent damage.
More nasty surprises for you, if you happen to live in a carpeted unit or have pets. These lowlifes will have a field day coming up with all sorts of ideas squeeze even more money out of your pocket.
Alternatively, you can try get them to come to your location on your last day after you've cleaned out for a final inspection so that they are unable to fabricate damages later because they have already seen & certified the unit as being clean (in your presence).
I am not writing this in an effort to get any form of monetary compensation from Troff & Denning. More importantly, I intend for this report to serve as a warning so that others will know of such companies and how to take the necessary steps to protect themselves.
It's indeed a shame that morality takes a back seat in the minds of such people whenever they see the opportunity to make a fast buck or two.
