I have a situation that I would like to bring to the publics attention. While employed by Waste Management Inc., during the time frame of 2001 to we were illeagally video taped in their men's restroom.
My concern is that this matter has not been taken seriously and will fall to the wayside without justice being achieved. The employees filed with the EEOC. At the end of their investigation, WMI was found at fault for sexual discrimination, giving the employees the right to sue within 90 days. The tape was also turned over to the Phoenix Police Department's Sex Crimes Unit. The case came to a halt without resolution.
We then hired Grant Woods to represent the employees. A civil suit has been filed. At this time there is still no resolution, we have been left feeling betrayed, frustrated and disillusioned.
In Waste Management's own words they comply with both the spirit and the letter of the law and they conduct their interactions with honesty and integrity. WMI Phoenix has also been responsible for violations of employees rights in the recent past concerning Union campaigns where federal judges have entered decisions against them.
If you have any doubt about what kind of company Waste Management is this should clear it up for you. If you have a choice of who does your trash collection I would do it with anybody but Waste Management.
