Vastly different pricing within family. Ripoff

My brother was just recently recruited by Kirby. He needed to get some 'Practice' time selling to family and relatives. He called me yesterday saying that he'd like to give me a demonstration. I agreed and we set an appointment for Sunday. He then told me that he sold our mom a Kirby just before he called me! I asked him what this unit costs. He replied, "$2200 dollars." I stated, "Twenty Two Hundred Dollars for a freggin vaccuum?!"

Fast forward to Sunday at 2:30 PM. I helped him bring in the unit. My brother began assembling the unit. I asked him what kind of deal our mom got. He stated that our mom purchased the unit for $1600 and financed it for 21.59% for 36 months. I then refrained from choking him. OUR MOM CANNOT AFFORD A $1600 APPLIANCE OR ANYTHING FOR THAT MATTER!

I then allowed him to demonstrate this 'KIRBY'. Actually, I was quite impressed. I thought that I NEEDED this Kirby. He then called his boss to report his progress. I told my brother to tell his boss that I was interested and would pay $500 cash right now. Anyways... We went back and forth and we agreed on $800 cash with taxes included. After 2 hours of thought, that's when I knew my emotions during the demonstration had gotten the best of me.

I immediately went to usacomplaints.com and saw the error of my decision. I called my brother and asked him to immediately come back to my house and return my money. I told him that I would pay him the commission he WOULD have received if I would have gone through with the sale. He arrived 45 minutes later and returned my cash and I then paid him $60 for his trouble. He then stated that he felt guilty for selling our mom a Kirby for $1600 WITH 21.59% interest, when I had negotiated $800 for the same unit.

He then told me about the ad he responded to for the job. He said the job ad was 'Confidential' and only after showing up for an interview did he find out it was door-to-door sales. The 'Manager' was flaunting his BMW 6-series and telling everyone that they could one day be driving the same vehicle and wearing a Rolex watch. I'm sure you see where this is going. I told my brother to have an honest conversation with our mom and let her decide whether she really needed a $1600 Kirby finance charges.
