Ripped off while trying to reach critically ill child

On Sat. The 11th of November, we had received a phone call saying our 3 year old granddaughter was critically ill. She is a victim of RSS. She is 3 and weighs 17 lbs. As we were returning to Idaho from Arizona, the water pump chose to go out on our Pickup.

We tried the local auto repair n Quartsite, AZ but the couldnt get to us for a week, but gave us a written estimate for 277.00. We went to Parker, AZ told them our situation, they said they would charge us 500.00-550.00, we were in a bind so we felt we didnt have a choice. Told them to go ahead. They also said 2.2 hours (where the other place said 1.5 hrs) the guy working on it stopped, went out, got himself some breakfast, sat down and ate it. Then finished the work. Charged us the extra time, plus charged us a total of 622.00 for replacing the water pump. When we complained about the extra money above the qouted price — He said, "I can quote you any thing I dam well please!!!" I think someone owes me the difference between the prices.

I contacted Ford Motor Co.in Dearborn Mi. But as usual, its "I, m sorry that happened we will forward it to the proper person. Thats where it always ends.
