Dishonest, rude, uncaring, VERY UN-dependable

I elected to use DAS, Dependable Auto Shippers, to ship a car I bought on eBay since eBay recommends them EXCLUSIVELY! Also, this is an expensive antique car and I couldn't see driving it 1500 miles when it only gets 8-10 miles to the gallon.

I called Zack Dobbs at DAS to arrange shipping. We arranged for the car to be dropped off in Pittsburgh on the 11th of November and the car to be shipped "within 2-3 days" according to him. The DAS website listed the pick up day to be the 15th of November and the arrival day in Houston to be the 29th of November. When the 15th came and went, with no change to the status of my car on the web site, I contacted DAS customer service.

After a 10 minute wait on hold, I was confronted with a very rude Customer Service rep who would give me no information and was told I would have to wait until they decided when they could ship it. I have called every day since the 15th, (it's now the 25th) and have had to wait 10 minutes every time to talk to anyone, been hung up on repeatedly, and treated poorly by every customer service rep. All with no resolution as to when my car would be shipped, and that the shippers had not decided to when they would ship the car. And NO, you can't talk to the shippers, you can't talk to a supervisor and you can't find out ANY information about YOUR car!!!

After 5 days past the shipping date, I was finally told
"Kathleen (no last name ever given)" was assigned to investigate and would call with in 24 hours. I waited 48 hours and called back. There had been no apparent investigation and "Kathleen" was at lunch at 3:30 in the afternoon and would call me back. I heard nothing from her.

I finally got a hold of someone who would talk to me, not like an idiot 3 days later. "Veronica" was the first customer service rep that seemed to want to help. She told me that she would find out information and would call me back by close of business the day I called her. She did not. I talked to her 3 days later, she denied talking to me and was very unhelpful.

I then sicced my wife on them since I was out of town working and could not do the interminable wait time required to get anyone on the phone. I gave her all the information with the names of the people I had talked to. She was hung up on once, and put on hold 3 times. She was put through to Kathleen's voice mail twice, left a nasty message for her about the entire situation AGAIN. She hung up and called them back and got the first person that would help her. He told her that Kathleen was on the phone with their operations department and would call her back. My wife, being the pit bull that she is, refused to hang up and told him she would wait. The rep put her through to Kathleen again and it went directly to voice mail. She was not happy!!!

When she was looking up the owners of DAS on the computer, Kathleen called back. She told her that the car would be put on a truck the following evening, November 25th. My wife then got Kathleen's direct extension, (x5155 by the way), and called her the next day. The car was originally supposed to be shipped directly from Pittsburgh to Houston, now it will have 2 stops, one in Chicago then onto Mesquite TX, their headquarters, where it will be picked up by their regional shipper to bring to Houston.
Is anyone pissed off yet??? Does anyone feel my outrage??? This car is a 1969 Dodge Coronet R/T Convertible, (they didn't make too any of these...) and it hasn't seen rain for 25 years and it's sitting in the snow and rain for two weeks due to these incompetent morons. DAS takes your money, promises you nothing, and then do what they want to your car. I wouldn't be surprised if they are driving my car around Pittsburgh as we speak. Unbeknownst to them I know the mileage and will sue and bring down all the hellfire and brimstone of my ability to make them pay. I am angry and they have treated the wrong person wrong this time.
