I went online with true.com to sign up for their free trial period but they asked for your credit card and they never mentioned how much they would charge your account until after you give them the information.
Well, as soon as I saw the charge on the screen after I clicked send I immediately called the company and cancelled. I told them at that time I did not want to continue because I saw the price and I was no longer interested and I did not want my card charged. I was assured at that time that there would not be a problem because I had called and cancelled immediately.
Low and behold my card was charged $49.99 I called true.com immediately on the phone and asked them why they had charged my account when I had cancelled immediately and I was told by Jamal and eventually his supervisor Christina that I had to call back again and cancel before the free period expired. I then asked her why I needed to call back again and cancel when I had cancelled immediately when I saw the charge on my account. Christina the supervisor and Jamal the employee stated that it had been written on my account that I would call back again. I told both of them that that was an all out lie and I had made it very clear at the time I called to cancel that I didn't want to call again but to cancel me now and would there be a problem I was assured that there would not be.
Christina the supervisor stated they were not going to give me a refund no matter what and that I can suit them or whatever I preferred because they were not giving me my money back.
This company and others like it need to be put out of business immediately. Therefore, I am contacting the news media in Texas and the consumer advocate about this matter.
